Company Description
Varlink is a specialist trade-only distributor supplying rugged mobile computers, Auto ID, and EPoS hardware and services to system integrators and IT resellers across the UK. We work exclusively with IT Resellers, System Integrators, and Solution Providers, distributing a comprehensive range of products including:

  • Rugged mobile computers, PDAs, smartphones, tablets, and vehicle-mounted computers
  • Barcode label printers, mobile printers, and plastic card printers
  • Barcode and RFID readers, printer supplies, and label design software
  • Application development tools and mobile device management software

We are proud to distribute products from leading brands including 42 Gears, Accuratus, BarTender, Duratis, Havis, Janam, Newland, Opticon, Poindus, SBV, SNBC, SOTI, SUNMI, Syble, TSC, Xprinter, and Zebra.

About the Role
Industry experience is not essential — most of our successful sales team joined without prior knowledge of our product range. We provide comprehensive initial and ongoing training. We’re looking for candidates with a minimum of two years’ sales experience (preferably in a B2B, office-based environment), though recent graduates with a passion for sales are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be proactive, professional, and customer-focused, with excellent communication skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Key Objectives:

  • Achieve gross margin targets through effective sales
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Identify customer needs to position Varlink as their preferred supplier
  • Build relationships with suppliers to generate new opportunities
  • Actively seek to increase sales and improve margins

Main Duties:

  • Contact potential customers and encourage account creation
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all sales enquiries
  • Promote Varlink’s product range and preferred brands
  • Identify and report additional product requirements
  • Record all customer interactions and activities in CRM
  • Collaborate with internal teams to grow accounts and revenue
  • Identify customers requiring senior-level engagement

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Location: This position is based at our York distribution centre.
