Digital Marketing Executive


The Digital Marketing Executive will play a key role in driving Varlink’s online presence, eCommerce growth, and digital communication strategy. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and wider commercial teams, this position supports brand awareness, lead generation, and customer retention across multiple digital channels. The role is ideal for a proactive and analytical marketer with a strong understanding of website management, SEO, and multi-channel campaign delivery.

Responsibilities

Digital Marketing & Website Management

  • Manage and update the company website, ensuring content accuracy, visual consistency, and an engaging user experience.
  • Oversee eCommerce operations, maintaining and optimising product listings for accuracy, appeal, and search visibility.
  • Implement and monitor SEO strategies to improve organic traffic and keyword ranking performance.
  • Use Google Analytics and related tools to monitor site traffic, user behaviour, and conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continually enhance website usability, navigation, and the overall customer journey.

  • Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Executive to plan, coordinate, and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns that align with the annual marketing strategy and broader business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the marketing plan, applying appropriate tactics based on:- Customer and prospect platforms
  • Lead generation and pipeline growth opportunities Key products within Varlink’s range New product introductions and manufacturer resources
  • Support the marketing team to ensure all campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high professional standard.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities, measuring results and recommending data-driven improvements to maximise ROI.
  • Assist with campaign scheduling, creative brief development, and coordination of assets across digital, email, and social channels.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to ensure all campaigns are aligned with overall business goals and manufacturer priorities.

  • Content & Communication

  • Work alongside the Marketing Manager and Marketing Executive to create engaging, on-brand content across all digital channels, including email, social media, and the company website.
  • Support the development and execution of the monthly email marketing plan, ensuring content reflects product availability, promotions, and relevant industry updates.
  • Provide input into the social media content calendar, ensuring posts align with campaign objectives and the overall marketing plan.
  • Create and optimise website content using SEO best practices to enhance visibility, authority, and organic performance.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to ensure all content supports wider business initiatives and brand positioning.
  • Maintain strong internal communication around campaigns to ensure visibility, alignment, and consistency across departments.
  • Support resellers by developing marketing assets and communications that promote joint initiatives and strengthen channel relationships.

  • Product & Market Insight

  • Conduct product analysis to maximise stock intelligence and inform Varlink’s stock management processes: Identify slow-moving or aged products.
  • Track buying trends and emerging product interests.
  • Undertake market research into new technologies, vertical markets, and potential growth areas.
  • Maintain and optimise the marketing database to ensure data accuracy, segmentation, and compliance.

  • Reporting

  • Produce a monthly activity report summarising progress, key campaigns, and performance outcomes.
  • Maintain and update the brand performance dashboard, tracking key marketing KPIs and campaign performance.
