Varlink supplies rugged Mobile Computers, Auto ID & EPoS hardware & Services to System Integrators and Hardware Resellers throughout the UK.

Industry experience is not a prerequisite, in fact very few of our sales team recruits have any experience of selling our products before joining us so we provide initial and ongoing product and technology training. This position is based at our distribution centre in York.

Our most successful salespeople have the ability to develop long term relationships with our customers based on providing outstanding levels of service to help them win and retain business.

If you have at least 2 years sales experience (preferably in an office-based B2B environment), proven sales skills and are diligent, focused on delivering outstanding customer service, have excellent spoken and written communication skills and are comfortable using Windows Office applications, we would like to hear from you. Job Description

Summary of the general nature and objectives of the job: • Sell enough products to enable you to meet your GM target

• Work with customers to establish overall and specific needs so that we can establish ourselves as their regular supplier

• Develop relationships with suppliers that lead to sales opportunities being passed to us

• Actively seek opportunities to increase gross margin

Main duties:

• Make contact with potential customers and have them open accounts with the company

• Respond, in line with customer expectations, to all sales opportunities

• Promote the products that we sell ahead of competing brands

• Report on additional brand and product requirements of customers

• Record all activities

• Effectively utilise the resources of the company to win, retain and grow sales and margin

• To identify accounts that need a visit from the Business Development Manager, Sales Director, Managing Director or Marketing Manager.

Internal relationships:

• Sales Office Manager • Sales Director • Technology Manager • Purchasing Manager • Marketing Team • Finance Manager • Managing Director • Other Sales Executives

External relationships:

• Supplier Account Managers • Customers – Multi contacts typically to include: Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Technical, and Owner/Manager

Salary:
